About Us

Isshin has been a family owned restaurant for 2 decades. Sushi Chef, Kazunori Yoda was born and raised in Saitam, Japan.  He has always been obsessed with cooking ever since his childhood.  He worked as a chef at the hotel in Tokyo before coming to Canada in 1993 where he started to work as a sushi chef in a popular authentic Japanese restaurant in Burnaby, BC and honed his skills as sushi chef for seven years.  In year 2000, he opened a small 30 seats sushi restaurant on Main street in Penticton.  His large portions, fresh fish and authenticity soon spread by word of mouth.  His experience and cutting technique had developed a considerable loyal customers.  In 2010 Isshin moved to its current location on Front street in Penticton to accommodate more than 60 seats.  Since then, Chef Kazunori has maintained the traditional Japanese taste of sushi when introducing more variety of Asian dishes.  His original recipe of spicy sauce and dressing is known for taste and high quality fresh ingredients and make all the food unique and exclusive.  Now he is introducing a wide variety of vegan dishes.  Come and check out our new menu items.  You will find more cocktails o the menu as well.  Come and join us!!
